News24 - When De Ligt transfer will likely happen - and PL team who could hijack move
======================================
Matthijs de Ligt could finally complete his transfer to Juventus. Reports in Italy claim the Holland international could put pen to paper with the Old Lady on Monday, putting to bed the biggest transfer saga of this summer's window. De Ligt has been linked to every top team in Europe this month including Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United. Each of these have offered him a contract but it seems De Ligt only considered the bids on the table from two clubs: PSG and Juventus. Early on it looked as if the French club were going to win the race for his singature. They have offered De Ligt considerably more money than Barcelona, and Mino Raiola is good friends with the sporting director at PSG. But De Ligt's insistence on a €150million release clause - something that is prohibited in France - apparently rubbed senior figures up the wrong way in Paris. Juventus are reportedly happy to include this clause, putting the Italian's firmly at the front of the queue to land De Ligt. And Corriere Dello Sport reckon the deal could be signed off after the weekend. One potential spanner in the works though, according to BBC Sport, is that only one club has made a firm offer to sign the centre-back. Of course each of the aforementioned clubs have offered De Ligt a contract, but with the intention of sorting out a transfer fee with Ajax at a later date. The only club who have reportedly made a concrete offer for the defender is Man United, meaning they could throw a spanner in the works should Ajax fail to agree on a price with Juventus.
