Goby and Pistol Shrimp Pair - Yellow Watchman Goby "watching" & Tiger Pistol Shrimp "working".

Yellow Watchman Goby (a.k.a. Sulphur Goby; Yellow Prawn Goby; Yellow Shrimp Goby) on guard duty at the "home" he now shares with a Tiger Pistol Shrimp, having paired with it after several weeks.

The Tiger Pistol Shrimp is house cleaning, while the Yellow Watchman Goby does none of the cleaning house at all., but the watchman goby is an expert at "watching" obviously. A true symbiotic relationship has been formed.

I bought the yellow watchman goby a few weeks before I bought the tiger pistol shrimp, and the yellow watchman goby was already living in a "cave" with a blood red fire shrimp, under a rock in my tank. The tiger pistol shrimp I placed near another "cave" in another rock in my tank, which he immediately made his "home".

It took nearly 4 weeks before the yellow watchman goby and the tiger pistol shrimp found each other and paired up. The Yellow Watchman Goby has now moved in to the Tiger Pistol Shrimp's "home".

My intention originally was to buy the yellow watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp at the same time and introduce them to each other in a bowl of tank water before putting either of them in in my tank, hoping this would make them pair up immediately. This couldn't be done because the yellow watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp came from different suppliers at different dates.

True love won out eventually though.
