One of the most common sewing questions we are asked is 'how do I choose the right fabric for my dressmaking or sewing project?' This isn't only limited to beginners learning to sew either. Often we hear that people who have been sewing for years are sticking to the same types of fabric because they're scared to try something new. In this video we'll run through some general pointers and things to think about when choosing a dressmaking fabric, what information the pattern packet gives you, information on stretch fabrics such as jersey or knits, common types of dressmaking fabrics: their potential uses, qualities and how easy they are to sew then we'll round up with some final words of wisdom.
