Rappers Should Never Sign (Don't Sell Your Soul) - Now, rappers signing to a label is a mistake a lot of them have made, and more will keep on making. Times have changed, and you don't need to sign that contract to make it in the rap game. We've seen plenty of situations where rappers speak out publicly regretting that they signed in the first place, and this is happening for a reason. It seems like most rappers are running from being shelved when they sign, especially when they're on a record company with a lot of internal competition. These record companies have one goal in mind and that's to make an ROI. A return on their investment. The second you stop being an asset and become a liability is the second you get shelved.. Should rappers really play this game when being an independent rapper is an option that sometimes could even be better? I don't think so. That's what I talk about.
