DAILY DOSE | Speaking at a joint press conference Monday with US Secretary Treasury Steven Mnunchin, the incumbent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Monday that Iran was preparing to deploy precision missiles capable of hitting Israel in the war-torn Yemen.

According to Netanyahu, Tehran's ambition is to obtain the capacity to launch a precision strike on any target in the Middle East.

The US has applied a "maximum pressure" campaign against Tehran following US President Donald Trump's decision to abandon the 2015 nuclear accord.

"We have applied maximum pressure and imposed sanctions on Iran, and they are working," Mnunchin assured at the conference, promising to "continue to ramp up more" as well as "follow-up on ideas from Netanyahu's team."

Last month, US State Department pointman on Iran Brian Hook, who is also part of the delegation visiting Israel along with Jared Kushner, told i24NEWS that “Iran is a big country; there is still plenty left to sanction."
