During his opening remarks at the leaders' debate, Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer attacked Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau for wearing what he called "masks" - as a feminist, as pro-Indigenous, as someone who would do politics differently - and said he was a "fraud" who could not be trusted. The English language debate was focused around five major topics: affordability and economic insecurity; national and global leadership; Indigenous issues; polarization, human rights and immigration; and finally, the environment and energy.
