Well renoun FamilyMart in India found Rats in Food

Well renoun FamilyMart in India found Rats in Food Rats are running rampant at Tokyo's FamilyMart.

It’s a real rat race — down the side of the refrigerated goods section.

A Japanese food market has been closed down after videos of it being overrun by a gang of “shopping” rats went viral, Tokyo media outlets reported.

A 15-second clip of the FamilyMart chain store depicts a vermin madhouse, with tail-wagging rodents bouncing off the ATM, browsing the frozen foods and peering down from on top of shelf displays.

The unappetizing footage, posted to Twitter on Sunday, has been viewed more than 5 million times.

In a second Twitter clip, which appears to be shot in the same store, more rats are seen checking out the baked goods, crinkling the wrappers with their feet and sampling the selection.

“We deeply apologize for making you feel uncomfortable and uneasy,” FamilyMart, which has 14,000 stores across Japan, wrote in a statement posted Tuesday on its website.

The store in question, in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, has been closed since Monday and is being disinfected.

“We will consider the possibility of resuming operations in consideration of the surrounding environment of the store,” the chain’s statement added.
