Edo assembly crisis: CSO insists the rule of law to be applied. The concerned civil society groups in Edo state has condemned the process of the inauguration of the new house of assembly in the state.
They said judging by what has happened before now concerning supreme court ruling on issues relating to nocturnal hour.
Speaking on behalf of other members during a press conference in Benin city the state capital on Thursday Mr Emmanuel Aigbedion said that the position of the civil society pertaining the current situation in the state is to make sure that the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria remain a tanning working documents for every citizens and to at all time protect the right of Nigerians.
He added that Edo house of assembly has always maintained a decent dress code for members of the house and officials.
According to our correspondent jimoh ogirima said the whole world saw in the open were a member was sworn in with short nicker and they can't support such all because of tribalism and favouritism.
Emmanuel Aigbedion "section 105, sub section 3 of the 1999 constitution as amended saddled the responsibility on the reason elected as Governor to issue a letter of proclamation to the Clark of the house for inauguration of the state house of assembly.

On their part, the coordinator of the talakawa Parliament, Marxist Kola Edopkayi and Comr Stanley Osazee frowned at the development which they both said is not a good precedence which should not be given any chance to stand.
Kola stressed that the best way to interpret the current situation could be lying solely on the judiciary which is always regarded as the last hope of the common man.
They added that members should be allowed to choose who will lead them as it concerns legislative business, the governor or the national chairman of the ruling party should start off. They honourable members are not going there to serve the All progressive congress members alone both the larger Edo state.

You will recall that Edo state House of Assembly has been in crisis over two months now, only time will tell if is going to resolve.
