Meaning of NOT NORMALLY THE CASE - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF NOT NORMALLY THE CASE: So it is a beautiful sunny day today, which is not normally the case in April in Canada. Normally it would be raining. So we have this phrase in English where if we say something is "not normally the case" it simply means that it's not what we would be expecting or not what we would consider normal. So for instance, maybe you have a really, a favourite football team and they won their game last night and your friend says to you, "Well that's awesome because that's not normally the case. Normally they, they lose their games." So we're having a beautiful day here in Canada, which is not normally the case in April, but I'm really enjoying it. I have to actually wear my sunglasses today.
