Pakistani Expert working on Autonomous vehicles project | گاڑیوں کو ذہین بناتا پاکستانی سائنسدان

دنیا بھر میں مختلف کمپنیاں خودکار طریقے سے چلنے والی کاریں تیار کر چکی ہیں۔ یہ اٹانومس گاڑیاں سڑک پر فیصلے کے لیے سینسرز، راڈار اور دیگر بیرونی آلات پر انحصار کرتی ہیں مگر معروف ٹیکنالوجی کمپنی آئی بی ایم کا منصوبہ اس سے ذرا ہٹ کر ہے۔ پاکستان سے تعلق رکھنے والے ڈاکٹر شہزاد چیمہ اس پراجیکٹ کے لیڈ سائنٹسٹ ہیں۔ خودکار طریقے سے چلنے والی ایسی گاڑیاں ہیں جو چند برس قبل تک ایک خواب لگتی تھیں۔ ان کاروں اور گاڑیوں کو ’کنٹرولڈ انوائرنمنٹ‘ میں آزمائشی طور پر چلایا بھی جا رہا ہے۔ مگر عام سڑکوں پر ان کو لانے کے لیے ایک طرف تو قانونی تقاضے پورے کیے جانے کی کوشش ہو رہی ہے تو دوسری طرف اس ٹیکنالوجی کو بھی بہتر سے بہتر بنانے کے لیے کام ہو رہا ہے۔

Only a few years ago, what sounded like science fiction is becoming reality. Autonomous vehicles are ready to transform our daily lives. Among other companies, renowned Company IBM is also working on a self-learning driving project. Dr. Shahzad Cheema from Pakistan is a lead-scientist for this project.
“What seemed like science fiction a decade ago is now visible as test vehicles gather data, tune sensors and develop the artificial intelligence (AI) to make cars self-driving and safer. Every major auto company, their suppliers and startups across the globe are using the latest technology in an arms race to the future where cars drive themselves.”
