Today I share the tale of how I got tricked into buying a brand new Fender guitar. I'm not really sure what happened to the other guy - hopefully he is ok, but after nearly 2 weeks of non-communication, I'm guessing the deal is off.
So it was an on-again, off-again type of deal for a limited edition Jazzmaster with 3 pickups. The first trade deal didn't work out, but he told me about the new Fender Vintera Jaguar that he would be interested in working a deal out plus some cash. Since I figured this would be a good Fender Friday episode - I agreed to the deal.
With trades, I required the guitars to be sent to me first. He was having some issues getting it sent out and asked for a shipping label. I was happy to provide him one - I just needed dimensions and a weight. Due to some family issues, this took a few weeks to get. Once I got them, I sent him a pre-paid shipping label and paid for a UPS pickup. Unfortunately, the guitar was never shipped and UPS was unable to complete the pickup since no package was ready.
I KNEW I should've waited to buy the NEW Fender Vintera 60s Jag until I had gotten the Jazzmaster, but with the guy being really responsive and setting up a pickup with me, I thought he was serious so to help get the deal done quicker - I bought it. So, that is the story of how I got TRICKED into buying a Fender Vintera Jag.
I have no hard feelings - I'm sure someone will appreciate the review and buy it anyway! Or maybe I'll hear from the mysterious 3 pickup 60th anniversary Jazzmaster guy again!
