Reaping benefits from Trials | James 1

Reaping benefits from Trials | James 1 Reaping benefits from Trials,
James 1:1-8,
GraceHill Church,
Mike Trofimenko,
1. James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings.
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Sermon notes:
suffering with chronic pain,
dealing with hardships in your relationship,
unbelieving spouse,
struggling financially, living paycheck to paycheck,
difficult times in the church,
you may be struggling at your workplace,
The Lord is faithful. He uses trials in order to perfect our faith.
Point #1 When you persevere through trial, do so as the Scripture instructs in order to reap maximum benefit from it.
Trial - has this basic meaning of trying, testing, or proving.
Trials Will cause grief & sorrow so we must not think they are not of any benefit just because we grieve.
When you encounter various trials.
Trials Prove our faith genuine,
Trials teach us what we are,
Why would you have joy while going through a trial?
Because you do not have appropriate knowledge or faith with regard to God’s work in the midst
of the trial.
It is only possible to rejoice in the midst of trial if you have a biblical perspective of it.
We must have submissive will.
Christian who persevered through a series of trials learned his own mistakes and was
chastised by God, has become more pure in conduct, thought, and word.
One who has been humbled by God.
One who learned not to cling to his personal idols, things that he or she loves more than Christ or depends on more than on Christ.
One who has become more focused on eternal and heavenly hope.
In order to reap maximum benefit from trials, we ought to have a needy spirit.
To reap the benefits from the trials, you ought to have unwavering faith.
