Nate Diaz catches up with ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto after his UFC 244 bout vs. Jorge Masvidal, in which he fell to the now BMF belt holder due to a doctor’s stoppage after cutting his eye. Diaz tells Okamoto that he fought too early after his August 17th bout vs. Anthony Pettis where he initially was cut above the eye. He goes on to say that he didn’t turn down the fight vs. Masvidal because it’s exactly the opportunity he’s been asking for and because he’s made such a name for himself in the UFC he felt like he was needed to sell the PPV. He then shares what’s next for him, looking to take a few months to let his eye heal and then jump back into camp to face Jorge Masvidal again.
