Different dog breeds to be inducted in CRPF’s canine squad The Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) Dog Breeding and Training School is training dogs of various breeds in Karnataka’s Bengaluru. Dog Breeding and Training School is located in Taralu village of Bengaluru rural area. They train dogs of various breeds such as Malinois, German Shepherd and Labradors. These dogs will be inducted into the force's canine squad. While speaking to ANI, Principal of Dog Breeding and Training School DIG Ravindra ML said, “Till 2011, our main breeds were German Shepherds and Labradors. But, these breeds are not very rugged so we thought we should go for a breed which is rugged and we chose Malinois.” “Initially we imported 15 dogs from Belgium and then started breeding, training them,” he added. Speaking to ANI on the same subject, the Vice Principal of Dog Breeding and Training School, Commandant P Manoj Kumar said, “The reason to choose Malinois breed of dogs was that they have sleek body and can walk up to 20-30 kms. Jawans have to walk for miles to reach a site of operation.”
