Sometimes, we buy and consume stuff that we don't even know what they're made of, especially food. As long as it makes our bellies full and it's delicious we put it inside our bodies, and that needs to change. Consumers should be well educated about the food industry and nutrition. That's the only way we can stop the chaos going on inside those food factories. Because at the end of the day, the world isn't just about money, and consumers aren't just money creating machines. Humans' health and well being are above that.
We can start by learning about these 10 chemicals in foods that are harmful to our bodies.
#2 Toxic Chemicals In Food
10. White flour, rice, pasta, and bread
a) They are sucked out of nutrients.
b) They increase blood sugar.
c) That damages our nerves, organs, and blood vessels.
Replace processed grains with whole grains, like brown or wild rice, whole-wheat bread and pasta, barley, and oatmeal.
9. Sodium Nitrite
a) It's mostly found in processed meats.
b) It causes headaches, Dizziness, and stomach-ache.
c) It is believed to cause diabetes.
Protect your health by always choosing fresh, organic, and healthier sources of meats.
8. Butylated Hydroxyanisole, also known as BHA.
a) It is a cancer-causing preservative.
c) It may help prevent food poisoning, but that's only beneficial for the food companies.
c) Its side effects are not worth its benefits for the economy.
You better put any product back on the shelf if it contains BHA.
7. Artificial colors.
a) They are blue 1 and blue 2, green 3, red 3, end yellow 6.
b) They are linked to health issues such as thyroid, adrenal, bladder, kidney, and brain cancers.
c) Artificial colors are mostly found in kids' products, that's why they're very dangerous.
It is best if you always seek out foods with no artificial colors, especially when shopping for your kids.
6. Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Benzoate.
a) They are added to soda.
b) they cause dizziness, headaches, and thyroid issues.
c) Their dangerous levels increase when exposed to heat.
Avoiding any products that contain it seems like a good idea to me.
5. Artificial sweeteners
a) Especially aspartame and sucralose.
b) They are even harder on our metabolic system than plain sugar.
c) They trick the brain into forgetting that sweetness means extra calories.
Always scan ingredient labels and ban this artificial stuff.
4. Trans fats.
a) They raise your LDL levels which are the bad cholesterol and decreases your HDL levels which is the good cholesterol.
b) They increase your risk of blood clots and heart attacks.
Avoid trans fats and outside fried foods, since they're usually fried in oils that contain trans.
3. Shortening.
a) They can cause blood clotting and obesity.
b) They increase your risk of metabolic syndrome which leads to diabetes.
Instead choose healthier monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, peanut oils and omega 3 acids.
2. Guar gum
a) It can swell up to 20 times its size.
b) It causes bloating gas, and cramps.
Not to mention the feeling of always being bloated and having gas, it's just not worth it.
1. Finally, Monosodium Glutamate or MSG
a) It is used to intensify and enhance the flavor of savory dishes.
b) It is associated with weight gain and metabolic syndrome. Some people have allergies to it and may experience headaches, sweating, and numbness after consuming it.

A lot of what's sold as food is actually poisonous. Okay, maybe using the term poisonous is a bit of an exaggeration, but keep in mind the potential danger they cause, and how we can clearly observe it in today's global society with the rise of food manufacturing and the obsession of making money no matter the consequences. After all, humans' health and well being are above everything, and money can't fix it once it's lost.
