Thoughts on Flickr in 2019 (as an amateur photography enthusiast with a large photo library)

Thoughts on Flickr in 2019 (as an amateur photography enthusiast with a large photo library) Please use earphones. There's a weird buzz in the audio if you turn up your speakers. But it's just faint on headphones. Sorry.

I know this is a very long video. That's why I put timestamps with descriptions below. I already cut out a lot of rambling, and as much of the filler "uhs" "likes" "you knows" as I could. That's why you see a lot of jerky cuts. The ones that remain are too difficult to remove.

TIMESTAMPS

00:00 Intro
00:49 Who am I? I am a paying customer for two pro accounts. Not just a disgruntled free user who is complaining for no reason. You can even call me a fan, why would I pay all this money otherwise or even make videos about it.
01:34 Who is the ideal Flickr user? Especially now in the Instagram era? My opinions.
02:57 Features this 2019 era Flickr user will like and want to pay for.

03:50 It's 2019, Flickr still hasn't given Collections the prominence it deserves.
04:02 can't create Collection Mosaics
04:18 All collections now have blank mosaic thumbnails.
04:23 account owner can't even access collections in "You" dropdown menu
04:49 album description is weirdly displayed

06:14 how to advertise to Instagram users, this is an archive of your social media images.
06:40 mobile app on android tablet freezess
07:15 feed jumps back to newest photo after viewing individual photo lower on the feed/ stream in the mobile app
07:33 view more info link should be more prominent (on mobile app), or make it collapsible

08:17 Flickr mobile app should have multi account switching. Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, have that. It's not some super high tech feature.
08:50 modernize Organizer - select more than one album at a time when rearranging
09:45 also enable that for mobile app, even as a separate Uploader's app like YouTube has
10:16 maps is terrible
11:18 upload templates (pre-populate Description/ Title with info) would be nice. YouTube has it.

11:49 set our own video thumbnails. even if it's not uploading one, but scrubbing to a specific spot in the video.
12:18 Video I cited on some 10 year old 135 & 120 film I
shot before & dug up recently to have developed.

12:57 Hovering over a video in the thumbnail view should show video length in the WEBSITE. Mobile app overlays the video length over the thumbnail so that one's ok.
13:06 Would be nice if you can Chromecast your photos to a TV like Google Photos.

14:03 Some positive stuff.
15:00 High res 6K display announcement
15:09 Various ways of display, whether in order uploaded (photo stream/ feed), or view by date taken, or by date uploaded.
15:40 Can we remove galleries from the navigation bar to highlight Collections? Or have the option to choose?
15:56 Batch Organize- add tags in one click to multiple photos. Hopefully same can be done for batch editing Title & description

16:42 It's great that Flickr recognizes IPTC Title & Description you prepared ahead of time and populates those fields with those info so you don't have to type it after uploading.
17:15 YouTube is nearly as ancient and kept up with the times. How can Flickr remain relevant today?
19:59 Stats are good
21:49 Conclusion again
