Social Media: A Useful Tool or a Distraction in Medical Publications?

Social Media: A Useful Tool or a Distraction in Medical Publications? Note this is a video recording of an online meeting conducted using the Zoom.us platform. Inevitably such recordings suffer a little in terms of their production values because of the internet connectivity and quality of webcams. Despite that, they allow us to provide additional valuable insights in to the MedComms business and we can involve a wider range of speakers who can participate from the comfort of their own desks, wherever in the world they are.

In this webinar we’re joined by Lynda Chang, Beatrice Vetter-Ceriotti and Tamalette Loh of Complete HealthVizion, three of the authors of a recent article in The MAP newsletter. Social media is part of everyday life for many healthcare professionals (HCPs) who use it alongside traditional communication channels for scientific exchange and debate. The benefits of facilitating the transparent and credible exchange of medical publications-related information are clear. Insights from online discussion also provide new channels when looking at treatment landscapes for disease areas. The question for medical publication professionals is how to communicate through social media and how to navigate the unique compliance, trust, and content challenges that social media poses. And we answer questions from the audience.

It should be of interest to anyone working in and around publications management.

Recorded 09 October 2019 as a MedComms Networking webinar. Produced by NetworkPharma.tv
