This poor giant was first noticed by a nearby villager to the forest. His leg has seriously injured due to some reason which is still unclear. It is suspected that it may be due to accidental struck with a watering pipe which is installed by the farmers. This shows another aspect of human elephant conflict. Due to the rapid deforestation and habitat defragmentation, these majestic giants are used to roam around the cultivated areas. Therefore these giants have to face many dangers day by day.
A message was sent to the the wildlife team who were immediately deployed to the location of injured elephant. When they reached there, they could noticed that poor elephant has fallen down helplessly in the dense forest. The elephant has sustained several injuries in his leg and was in desperate need of medical attention. No strength remained in his body.
The team quickly lepta in to action and they realized that first of all weakened elephant should be boosted up. The veterinary surgeon gave saline to regain its energy. As the elephant is severely weakened, they had to give several bottles of saline.
Then the treatments were started. First the veterinary officer cleansed the wounds with disinfectant. Then applied some antibiotic ointment to the injured area .Despite the hardships, they did their best with compassion toward the poor animal. Further they injected some antibiotics to aid a speedy recovery. After several hours, the wildlife team strained to get the elephant stand up. They made a big effort by pulling up the elephant.
But it seems that it needs considerable time to the treatments to come in to effect. No doubt! The poor giant will be able to stand up with his own.
