In this repair video we will be working on retina imac that has a black no display after customer accidentally dropped the screen while attempting hard drive replacement. Customer previously mailed the screen only for lvds connector repair. Screen still did not work after the repair. Customer mailed the entire imac so we can figure out what is causing the black screen and possible repair. Only 3 leds were lit on the motherboard. The forth was off which indicates screen not detected. Replacing the lvds connector on the motherboard did not fix the problem, we discovered a blown filter that was not passing voltage to the lvds connector. replacing the filter in combination with replacing the lvds connector on both motherboard and screen + changing the cable fixed the problem.
