Etihad first class apartment on their airbus a380 is a fantastic product. The hard product is insane with incredible amount of real estate on a plane, very comfortable wide large seat and a big bed. The soft product is also awesome. Everyone working the first class cabin, flight attendants and chef, were very nice and helpful and attentive. Also showering on a plane is an insane experience.
I booked this flight using amex points. I transferred 287,000 american express membership rewards points to etihad guest miles and paid $550 in taxes and fees. That's the total cost for 2 adults and a lap child. Not bad at all given the cash value for this one way flight from Abu Dhabi to New York would cost about $9,200 per adult.
