It’s so important to put your financial affairs in order as soon as you possibly can, and part of that is having a will in place. A will gives clear instructions as to who gets what in your family upon your death, so what if you were to pass away without writing one? Well, you’re leaving it up to state law to decide, and though the state’s method is well-intentioned, it won’t necessarily honor what you had in mind.
