Skin crawling footage shows a ‘red dragon’ insect curled up around her young.

Martin French filmed a scolopendra subspinipes carefully looking after almost 40 of her children in his shed in Norwich, Norfolk.

Wrapping them all with the full length of her body, the mother will clean them daily before they’re ready to leave.

Martin said: “A mother will protect her babies for between six and eight weeks.
