The lead changed all day long between Richie Rude (Yeti Cycles), Eddie Masters (Pivot Factory Racing), and Adrien Dailly (Lapierre Bikes), and it all came down to the very last stage of the day which you get to see here! Eddie Masters won by less than a second after a total of 43 minutes and 31 seconds of racing! The Kiwi racer skipped the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill in Vallnord, Andorra to compete at the EWS instead. It paid off as he went two places better than his previous best EWS result aboard his Pivot Firebird 29er. Ed cemented his standing as one of the fastest enduro riders currently on tour and if his name is familiar, Eddie is the brother of Wyn Masters of WynTV fame. Sam Hill, the 2018 EWS overall winner was noticeably down the standings with a 12th place result about 1.5 minutes off the pace. In the women's Pro class, Isabeau Courdurier of Intense Cycles finished with a comfortable enough lead, even though Raphaela Richter took two stage wins off the Frenchwoman and was knocking on the door here in Les Orres. Courdurier holds onto the series lead in 2019 with three races remaining.
