Oil catch can in 1.6HDi/TDCi collecting mainly water, Update #1 (Peugeot/Citroen/Ford/Volvo)

Oil catch can in 1.6HDi/TDCi collecting mainly water, Update #1 (Peugeot/Citroen/Ford/Volvo) Quick look at the efficiency of a cheap oil catch can (similar to Provent 200) in the 1.6HDi/TDCi engine. The car is a Peugeot Partner 1.6HDi (2007; 90bhp; ~93,000 miles or ~150,000 km; no fap/dpf). I have driven ~500miles or ~800km since installation, so potentially it is a bit early to make stronger claims for the efficiency of the oil catch can.

The installation is here:
It turned out that the cheap oil catch can does not collect much oil at all, mainly water condensation. The outlet pipes from the oil catch can had some oil, so oil vapour has travelled to the intake. A potential solution is to stuff some steel scourers in the oil catch can. I will report later on if that has somewhat worked.
