“Spider-Man: Far From Home” is the first movie to follow up the massive hit “Avengers: Endgame.” In the second trailer for “Far From Home” we see a world grappling with the death of Tony Stark’s Iron Man, and Peter Parker’s struggle with how to move on as Spider-Man without his mentor. Because this film follows “Endgame” there are a ton of Easter eggs, hidden meanings and exciting revelations about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The biggest one might be that the arrival of Mysterio/Mr. Beck (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) appears to introduce the concept of a multiverse, or multiple dimensions, to the MCU. But at the same time, everything Peter is seeing could be fake, as Mysterio is a master of illusions in the comic books. Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury also makes a significant return to the MCU after “Captain Marvel.” He brings Spider-Man and Mysterio together, and helps explain all the problems that happened as a result of Infinity Stone snap. But which snap exactly is Nick referring to? We break down what the trailer could mean for the movie and for the future of the MCU.
